Endodontics
Endodontics involves the treatment of the soft tissue, or "pulp", which lives in the centre of the tooth, and down the middle of the roots. The pulp contains nerves and blood vessels and also the cells that originally formed the tooth. The pulp is easily damaged by bacteria that can penetrate it from decay, trauma, gum recession, and through cracks caused by heavy biting forces.
