River Practice’s managing director and lead orthodontist Dr Jeremy Peak was named ‘Boss of the Year’ at Pirate FM’s Local Heroes Awards ceremony held on Friday 4th April at The Eden Project, Cornwall.
The annual awards aim to celebrate the ‘unsung heroes in the community in Cornwall’. The 14 categories attracted hundreds of entries for local heroes including Fundraiser of the Year, Parent/Guardian of the Year and Child of Courage and this year Jeremy was awarded ‘Boss of the Year’ after being nominated by staff members at the River Practice.
Jeremy says: “I was so surprised when I had the phone call from Pirate FM – I really thought it was a wind-up; we have a great team spirit and like to make the atmosphere as relaxed as we can so that our patients share the benefits. I am so touched that the team at River Practice nominated me for the award; it’s great to be recognised as a ‘Local Hero’ in Cornwall. The team had a great time at the awards so a big thank you to Pirate FM for putting on a fantastic evening of celebration.”
