Meet The Team, Tamsin

Tamsin Hearle
Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry and Special Care Dentistry

Tamsin qualified at Kings College London in 1983.  She worked in hospital and Community Dentistry in South East London until returning to Cornwall to work in the Community Dental Service.

“I taught paediatric and public health Dentistry at both Kings and Guys whilst in London as an undergraduate and post graduate level.”

“I also developed a service for children with complex needs and was involved in planning one of the first outpatient dental day surgery services in London.”

Cornwall-born Tamsin returned to the county and worked within the Community Dental Service, and with others to set up GA and Sedation services for adults and children in Community and hospital settings. 

Tamsin has also been a committee member of the British Dental Association and British Society of disability and oral health. I was also chair of the Cornwall Oral health Advisory group and lead dentist for child protection in Cornwall.

Special interests in helping patients with significant dental anxiety to obtain appropriate dental care. In addition to this Tamsin has an interest in people with communication difficulties  in particular people with Autistic Spectrum disorder.

Tamsin has been a regular undergraduate and  post-graduate lecturer for dentists, dental nurses and other health professionals throughout her career. Topics ranging from hands on paediatric dentistry to oral health education, hypnosis and Communication skills.

She is married and lives on a small farm with lots of horses, sheep and chickens.
