At The River Practice Specialist Centre in Truro, we are a brilliant team. So much so, we have been shortlisted for an unprecedented six awards at the National Dental Awards (think ‘Titanic’ or ‘Gravity’ at the Oscars) including for Dental Team of the Year.
We have a national reputation for the excellence of our dentistry with highly trained experts in all aspects of smile makeovers, from brightening a faded smile to orthodontic alignment or implants. Our support team is also amongst the very best and our awards success proves this.
Lisa Holmes is shortlisted as Practice Manager of the Year for her success in assisting practice owner Jeremy Peak (himself a multiple award winner, including Cornish Boss of the Year) in building the team and the practice.
Head Receptionist Jessie Morse has an exceptional ability to put patients at ease as well as organise very busy diaries. She was highly commended in 2014 and reached the final shortlist again for Dental Receptionist of the Year, a remarkable achievement given that she has only been in dentistry for three years.
At the other end of the experience scale is Lesley Oldfield, our orthodontic therapist. Lesley has been in dentistry for over 30 years and has trained for almost every role within the team. Lesley’s extensive experience as well as her calm demeanour has ensured excellent progress for her orthodontic patients and she has now been shortlisted as Therapist of the Year, having been highly commended in 2014.
Shortlisted for Hygienist of the Year, Alison Brown is at the forefront of recent changes allowing patients to book directly in with a hygienist, rather than having to be referred by a dentist. This has allowed her to help a broad range of new patients to love their smiles again. Alison is also heavily involved in teaching.
Helen Mackenzie won the title of Dental Nurse of the Year in 2002 and has continued to develop and pass on her skills, deservedly being shortlisted again for 2015.
